Program notes:

3:00 Sue Arith and Sandy McGregor will appreciate some help in setting up and preparing tables and other preparations for the day's program.

4:00 Soft drinks, beer, wine and coffee are provided by the Club but members must provide the necessary snacks for our happy hour.

4:55 Perhaps for this meeting we could begin with the short Doxology, "We gather together to ask the Lord's blessing," before Du Gamla, America the Beautiful and our Swedish table grace.

5:00 Usually we have had Thanksgiving fare for our November meeting, but this year we will try to avoid duplication by having a
traditional Swedish veal stew.

Boiled potatoes and peas, either creamed or plain, are appropriate vegetables and we depend upon our members ingenuity for additional meat and vegetable dishes.. The recipe calls for a distinctive sweet-sour sauce served separately from the meat. Please remember also the bread and desserts. . This may not be a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, but we obviously have much to be thankful for in the great variety of good food we have enjoyed.

5:45 Treasurer's report and any other business before us, including the presentation of a genuine Swedish wedding gift to Bob and Nancy Olson.

6:00 We hope the Lundquist's will tell us something about their Swedish roots as well as the highlights of their recent trip to
Sweden. They traveled without the benefit of tour guides and may well have some valuable tips on independent travel.

6:25 With Ted Johnson leading, this will be our last chance to practice Sankta Lucia before our December meeting and to suggest other additions to our Sankta Lucia program.

6:45 A reminder that all raffle prizes are member contributions and much appreciated for the financial help given to the Club.

7:00 Member participation in taking down the tables, carrying chairs and general cleanup has been outstanding and is now a
valuable tradition. Tusen Tack to all the willing helpers.

 When Last We Met
Our monthly meeting was held on Sunday, October 17th.  The social hour began at 4:00.  At 5:00 everyone gathered at the tables as our singing was led by Ted Johnson.  We then enjoyed a delicious buffet.  The entree was barbecued pork prepared by Bob Olson.  Members contributed the rest of the meal.  After the meal, Nellie and the children adjourned to another room to make Halloween ceramics.  Nellie’s endeavors has been a real success with the children eagerly looking forward to creating something special at each meeting.
Our President, Leland Peterson, introduced several guests.  Stig and Lena Grankuist  from Stockholm were visiting their family.  Magnus Lindquist was also visiting from Sweden.  Bob Anderson introduced us to his new bride Nancy.  Ted Johnson took orders for badges.  Since our Treasurer, Don Lundquist, was out of town, Ted asked that the members pay for the badges at the next meeting.  We then sang Happy Birthday to Leila Milner who told us she was 3 years old.
Leland presented the names of the nominees for club officers for the coming year.  They were: Leland Peterson - President, Alise Dilworth - Vice-President, Georgie Unser - Secretary and Don Lundquist - Treasurer.  They were unanimously elected.  Leland announced that the dues were $15.00 per member for the year.  He then announced that Marilyn Melendy would like to have full participation for the Smorgasbord to be served at the November meeting.  A list was sent around with a Menu and available recipes.  After a brief history of the Sicilian Sankta Lucia, Ted Johson led us in singing Sankta Lucia and other Swedish songs.
The monthly raffle was held preceding the conclusion of the meeting.  Everyone pitched in as usual for the clean-up which was completed in no time.
Respectfully Submitted,
 Georgie Unser - Secretary
