________________________________________________________
 When next we meet:

Date:    June 21, 1998
Place:     Ruritan Clubhouse
Time:     Doors open at 4:00 PM
What:     Happy Hour 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
.     Cookout and Picnic @ 5:00 PM

The final meeting of the season is here and once again  it  is time to celebrate Midsommar. Bring  your choice of meat  to cook on the outdoor grill for yourself and your family, and bring a dish for the pot luck table to share with the membership -- potato salad, garden salad, chips, baked beans, fruits, or desserts -- would be welcome.  As is customary, the club will provide the coffee, tea, soft drinks, beer and wine.  You will also need to bring a lawn chair to sit comfortably outside.

There  is still the need to have a raffle at this meeting.  Please consider bringing a baked or other appropriate item for the drawing.  In addition to being lots of fun, this monthly activity helps keep the books balanced.

We will have a short business meeting in the out of doors, weather permitting.  There is a matter or two that needs some discussion that we didn't get a chance to handle during the last meeting.
When last we met:

Approximately forty-plus  members  shared  a lively Happy Hour -- filled with nibbling, sipping and conversation.

At 5 o'clock we were joined by the Beach Tones,  our guests and the entertainment for the evening.  The buffet table groaned under the weight
of the wonderful, delicious dishes provided by the membership and members and guests  alike dined heartily on the wonderful spread.

The very lovely and delicious birthday cake was provided by Allison Alcantara.

A lively  and successful raffle was held under the direction of Andy Andersson.

After the raffle was completed, the membership settled back to enjoy the marvelous music of the Beach Tones, as they favored us with tune after tune, some old, some not so old,  sung in superb harmony.  It was a thoroughly  enjoyable evening!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the people who work so
hard each month to help make each  meeting successful.  The phone crew -- Marilyn Melendy, Lenny Leonardson, Alise Dilworth, Merri Milner, Christine Cardoza, and Hans Thunander do a excellent job calling each member every month.   Bob Olson does a superb job providing the favorite beverages each month.

And the hall is ready for our meal and meeting each month-- decorated, table set, coffee ready -- due to the efforts of Sue Airth and Marilyn Melendy.  Andy Andersson lends his talents to bring about a successful raffle.  A very sincere thank you to all!!
